Benoit Moulin, Co-founder at Domos FS, a company providing an end-to-end set of solutions dedicated to Alternative Assets Fund Management: Private Equity, Real Estate, Debt & Infrastructure, answered our questions about its DNA and the journey leading to its creation.

1 - Please introduce your company and the products/services it offers.

Domos FS is a provider of SaaS solutions for the Alternative Investment Funds players: GPs, AIFMs, Fund Administrators and Depositaries. Within this market, we focus on Private Assets: private equity, debt, infrastructure, real-estate and funds of funds.

2 - What led to the creation of your company?

I met Arnaud Vinciguerra, the CEO of Domos FS, when the Alternative Investment Fund Manager Directive (AIFMD) came into force. I found his vision of the future of Alternatives so interesting that I decided to join the Domos FS project. We agreed that I would lead the sales development of the company, starting with Luxembourg as it is the 2d place worldwide for investment funds.

3 - What is the most difficult or unexpected thing you've had to overcome on your journey?

As a newcomer on the market, the most difficult was to gain our first client. We had to prove and convince that our solutions are working and stable.

4 - How is your offering different from your competitors and other market players?

There are multiple reasons: Domos FS was created specifically to streamline Alternative Investment Funds (AIF) processes and operations. We also help AIFs to comply with regulations and transform these legal constraints into opportunities. I would add that our solutions are built on open and recent technology. Domos FS was the first native SaaS multitenant solution dedicated to Alternative Assets hosted by a Professional of the Financial Sector in Luxembourg.

5 - What did you find at LHoFT ?

When you start a company, it's really challenging to find a place 100% dedicated to start-ups and technology like the LHoFT. They understand our needs. It’s also restful as everything is made to help us concentrate on our goals rather than on logistical issues for example. 

6 - What's next?

We work on new solutions such as our GP Portal to make it a real gateway to alternative investments.
