Otto Nino has over 20 years of experience which spans business development, data services, investment, commercial banking, financial services, environmental markets, and FinTech innovation applied to the financial industry as well as to the environmental and ESG marketplace.
Prior to his current role at Marco Polo Exchange, he held senior positions with global companies including Citigroup, leading the business development with some of the largest Latin American banks, IHSMarkit (now S&P) where he led the business penetration into Latin America, and The Intercontinental Exchange participating in the initial phase of formation of ICE Data Services.
Mr. Nino has also contributed to other regional initiatives for the development of technology-driven solutions in the financial industry in Latin America and other emerging markets such as the introduction by Citibank Central America of check image clearing upon the enactment of the Check 21 Act and the technical design of the first transactional platform for carbon offsets (CATS) for the World Bank's Forrest Carbon Partnership Facility (FCPF).
Mr. Nino is currently the Chief Product Officer of Marco Polo Exchange, a New York-based FinTech that owns a specialist U.S.-registered broker-dealer (Marco Polo Securities) dedicated since 2000 to breaking down investing and capital raising cross-border barriers using technologies including Blockchain and AI. He holds a master's degree in Entrepreneurial Economics from Francisco Marroquín University and a B.A. in Economics and International Financial Management from the same Alma Mater. He speaks fluent English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese.
