Olivier Cardinal joined PwC Luxembourg in August 2018 as Managing Director - Head of It Delivery before becoming CIO in April 2019.
A computer scientist by training, he has worked for 25 years in the banking sector. Originally from Belgium, he started his career at BBL - which later became ING Belgium - where he stayed for 13 years. He was responsible for IT architecture and IT integration in retail banking for ING Belgium and the Netherlands. In 2007, he joined the Fortis Group. "After the second weekend of the crisis, I became responsible for the separation of the Fortis group at IT level. That was a great experience", he explains. He then participated in the integration of Fortis Belgium into BNP Paribas. In 2014, he joined Luxembourg as head of IT development at KBL epb. There he was responsible for migrating the IT platform of the group's various entities to a single platform created by the Lombard Odier group. Once this mission was completed, he quickly joined PwC Luxembourg, with the ambition of managing the impact of new technologies in the daily work of the consulting firm, both internally and with respect to clients.
Olivier Cardinal brings years of experience as an IT Manager - IT Architect in large international banking organisations, with a focus on their transformation. He is helping to strengthen PwC Luxembourg’s position as a centre of IT competence in modern technologies, leveraging his skills from his extensive experience as an advisor for senior management using vision, pragmatism, technical and functional knowledge including the business, IT, operational, financial and organisational dimensions.
