Marc Lemmer is a Commissioner at the Luxembourg Data protection authority (Commission nationale pour la protection des données, CNPD) where he is responsible for awareness, training, technology watch and research and innovation collaborations.

Before joining the CNPD in 2019, Marc acted as an independent advisor to innovation–driven SMEs and public institutions, a period during which he set up the Industry partnerships & Technology transfer office (TTO) at the SnT interdisciplinary research center of the University of Luxembourg.

Prior to that, Marc was for 5 years the CEO of the Public Research Center Henri Tudor (Tudor), the predecessor of the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) and served as an elected member on the Executive Board of the European Association of Research and Technology Organisations (EARTO).

At the beginning of its career, Marc was working for 16 years with Luxcontrol a leading company in technical inspection and risk management.

Marc holds  a PhD in chemistry from the University of Munich and an MBA from the University of Lorraine .
