Laurent Federspiel joined Ceratizit as the Head of the Group Operational Excellence in January 2019, responsible for oversight, direction and leadership of the operational excellence initiative, guiding and supporting the OE teams from all sites of the group in charge of the continuous improvement programs. Recently in 2021, Laurent was appointed as Director Digital & Data, in charge of the digital transformation of the Ceratizit/Plansee Group.

Laurent started his professional career in 1997 at IEE International Electronics & Engineering Sàrl, Luxembourg, where he worked on the development and manufacturing of automotive passive safety products. After a year as Department Manager of the US based application development department at IEE Automotive Inc., Michigan, USA, he became in 2000 Director of the advanced engineering department for IEE S.A., Luxembourg - Contern, global supplier for intelligent sensing systems for safety, security, process automation and medical application, where he stayed until 2012. 

In March 2012, Laurent joined Luxinnovation as Director, in charge of the Sector Development & Cluster initiative, following a long career in product innovation and business development. He holds a Welch MBA from Sacred Heart University, Fairfield, Connecticut, USA as well as a Degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Kaiserslautern in Germany.
