Cybersecurity for CIOs Conference: Navigating the New Cybersecurity Landscape
Techsense Team I 9:38 am, 4th November
Luxembourg, November 4th, 2022 – The Cybersecurity for CIOs conference took place on October 27th, at Luxexpo The Box, during the second day of Arch Summit. Organized by TechSense by The Dots in partnership with Tomorrow Street, the event gathered 50 CIOs.
With the
evolution of technology and the development of new and more efficient software
tools, hackers are developing increasingly sophisticated techniques to get
around the rules and act in the shadows. Consequently, cyber risks are taking a
stronger hold these days, and CIOs and CISOs have to adapt to continuous changes
in the cyber threat landscape to secure resilience.

The conference was
opened by Pascal Morosini, CEO of i-Hub, introduced and welcomed by Kamel
Amroune, CEO of The Dots.
Pascal
Morosini traced the evolution of i-Hub, a
subsidiary of POST Luxembourg and BGL BNP Paribas specializing in KYC process
outsourcing, from its inception in 2019 until today's latest developments. He
raised the question of whether cybersecurity and resilience could be turned
into competitive advantages that generate business.
Stefaan
Hinderyckx, Senior Vice President Cybersecurity at
NTT Ltd. Europe, took the stage to address the question "Why Secure Access
Service Edge (SASE) is red hot". He listed the megatrends that will
reshape cybersecurity over the next five years and explained how SASE can help
to evolve from a reactive posture to a predictive strategy.
Guy Isler, CISO of the Year 2022, Chief Information Security Officer of CCSS and
Institutions de sécurité sociale du Luxembourg, explained to the audience that,
having similar roles, CIOs and CISOs will have to collaborate at various levels
in the future, notably on GDPR aspects, to improve security and protect
personal and business data.
Everything the Tech Community would like to know about Cybersecurity
For the rest of
the afternoon, Kamel Amroune gave the floor to Nicolas Arpagian, Director
of Cybersecurity Strategy at Trend Micro. A longtime expert in digital
criminality, he shared his thoughts and views regarding cyber attackers' new operational
modes. He also gave some examples of how criminals develop their illegal activities,
setting up smart and advanced technical methods to better deceive users.
He was then joined
by Vincent Arnal, CIO of Lalux and Ambassador of the Tech Community in
Luxembourg (THECIO22), for a fireside chat. Vincent Arnal started with
an opening question on hackers’ new behaviors in modern structures and how these
can be legally dealt with. Nicolas Arpagian answered by explaining that one
can no longer hold a single stakeholder responsible for a cyber attack. "We
are faced with more substantial and structured configurations", he said. The
debaters then addressed the potential technologies that could help combat
malicious acts, such as AI.
Last but not
least, Vincent Arnal and Nicolas Arpagian were joined by Pascal
Morosini, and José Correia, Chief Administration Officer and CISO at
i-Hub, and Kamel Amroune for a panel discussion on “Security and
Resilience as key business enablers”.

Interview de Paul Jung : Ivanti et les défis de la cybersécurité
by Excellium Services I 8:52 pm, 12th February
